Gymbaroo is a neuro-education program for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old (and their parents!) taught by.... teachers who have undergone extensive and ongoing GymbaROO professional development.

Our program has been running in the Illawarra area for 22 years and in Australia for 29 years.

On these web pages, you can learn more about what we do, about your child's developmental stage and about how important the various stages are to a child’s formative years.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any more information or explanation, or of course if you are interested in joining one of our courses.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO COME TO GYMBAROO CLASSES IN EACH AGE GROUP?

The Gymbaroo program is currently a 5yr program designed to follow the way that the brain grows and develops from birth through to reading and writing at school.

The program is designed sequentially from 6 weeks of age right through to starting school. I have heard parents say, after only completing one term of classes, "I have done Gymbaroo", and not actually understood that they have only completed a tiny part of the program. They have only stimulated the part of the brain that was active at that time.

The activities are specially designed for each age group so that you can make sure that you maximise each 6mths of development for your child and understand the importance of that stage for learning.

It is like building a house and if any part of the house has gaps then there can be problems.

Foundations of the house - IN UTERO AND BIRTH - Medulla and Cord

Sub Floor - rolling and head control  - NON MOBILE BABIES - Cerebellum - 2 dimensional

Floor - commando crawling and creeping on hands and knees - MOBILE BABIES /Creepers-Crawlers class - Pons and Midbrain - 3 dimensional

Roof - jumping, language, balance and increased independant movements - KOALAS 18mths - 2yrs - Early Cortex - upright

Help your child to reach their potential!

Gymbaroo offers research based programs led by trained teachers using specialised equipment and activities to stimulate your child's physical, psychological and social development. Gymbaroo encourages the integration and development of sensory (seeing, hearing, touch, balance) and motor (moving and co-ordination skills) to provide a secure foundation for intellectual development. Age appropriate classes for babies as young as 6 weeks to children of 5 years of age, allow parents and carers to be actively involved in their child's development.

Gymbaroo is a lot of fun - Parents, babies, children and teachers have a positive experience of learning together and love it! Through this fun learning experience infants and children develop critical skills that provide foundations for later literacy and learning.

Some benefits of attending gymbaroo

  • Learn about early childhood development - and what activities are best  for your children at different ages and stages of development
  • Enjoy quality time participating with your child in the company of other parents, carers and children
  • Qualified and caring educators can recognise potential learning difficulties early so that early intervention is achieved
  • There is nothing quite as rewarding as enhancing your child's early development!
