Owner/Teacher: June Dunne
June has been involved in Gymbaroo one way or another since 1989. She graduated from Armidale Teachers College in 1975, and thereafter began teaching in Sydney. In 1982 she transferred to Wollongong before resigning in 1988 just before her first son Murray was born. June was encouraged to enrol Murray as a student in Gymbaroo when he was 10 weeks old in 1989. June could see the benefits in Murrays behaviour and development so her second son, Craig, joined when he was born in 1990. In July 1994 June started working as an assistant at GymbaROO then began teaching the Babies class in October 1994. She has completed the Professional Gymbaroo Neurological Training and has continued to teach Toddlers, Mobile and Non-Mobile classes for the last 14 years, as well as taking the assistant role for some classes.
What June says about GymbaROO
Apart from making some great friends at GymbaROO I have gained a lot of knowledge about child development which carries over into my school teaching, particularly in regard to helping those with learning difficulties in the school system. Of course the knowledge I have gained has also helped me with my son who had a few problems also, and I love being able to help others in similar situations.
